David Beckham to miss World Cup

We just heard that David Beckham has been injured in a game between Ac Milan and Chievo at the San Siro. It looks like it’s a serious achilles injury and will rule David Beckham out of the World Cup in South Africa. This is devastating news for England but, as he may not have played a full part, it may not impact the England Squad as much as it could. We’ll learn that in time, but there’s no doubt that his experience would be missed.

Is this the end of his England career? Yes, it could be. Is it the end of his football career all together? We think not and truly believe that he still has so much to offer.

One thing I do know is that when my wife wakes up in the morning, she will be devastated that he’s not going to be in the World Cup. I just hope that the other key players, such as Wayne Rooney, will remain fit. It’s always a danger, but please don’t let a player who seems to be in the form of his life, be injured before the World Cup.

The influence of David Beckham will be a big miss for the England Squad, but we wish him the very best in his recovery. Even though it looks like he won’t be there, I’m sure he’ll be glued to his TV like we will and be cheering on England to win the World Cup!
